Diabetes Ayurvedic Treatment in Bhubaneswar

According to Ayurveda, diabetes is a metabolic disorder caused by an imbalance in the tri-doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Ayurveda classifies diabetes into two types: Sahaja and Doshaja. Sahaja diabetes is hereditary or congenital, while Doshaja diabetes results from dosha imbalances. Doshaja diabetes can be further categorized as Vataja, Pittaja, and Kaphaja.

At Srigram Ayurveda, our approach to ayurvedic treatment for diabetes goes beyond medication. We incorporate personalized panchakarma therapies, lifestyle modifications, diet management, yoga, and pranayama to holistically manage diabetes.

Panchakarma Therapies for Diabetes:

  • Vamana: A therapeutic vomiting procedure effective for Kaphaja disorders. It enhances metabolism, reduces Kapha dosha, and helps balance blood sugar levels.
  • Virechana: A purgation therapy for Pitta dosha that cleanses the gastrointestinal tract, improves digestion, and detoxifies the body.
  • Vasti: A medicated enema that cleanses the colon, balances Vata dosha, and improves insulin sensitivity.

Our ayurvedic solution for diabetes focuses on treating the root cause, offering long-term results and overall well-being. Choose Ayurveda to take control of your health naturally.

Types of Diabetes: Ayurvedic Perspective on Management

Diabetes is a complex condition with several types, each requiring unique approaches for effective management. Alongside modern medicine, ayurvedic diabetes control methods have proven to be highly effective in addressing the root cause and managing the condition holistically. Below, we explore the types of diabetes and how Ayurveda can help:

  • Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (DM)

This is an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system attacks insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. As a result, the pancreas produces little or no insulin. Type 1 Diabetes accounts for approximately 10% of diabetes cases.

Ayurveda focuses on strengthening the immune system and balancing doshas using therapies like Panchakarma and ayurvedic medicine for diabetes, which work to reduce dependency on external insulin over time.

  • Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM)

The most common form of diabetes, Type 2 occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin or the cells become resistant to insulin.

Ayurveda treats Type 2 diabetes by addressing metabolic imbalances and improving insulin sensitivity through lifestyle changes, herbal formulations, and therapies like Vamana (therapeutic vomiting) and Virechana (purgation). These methods, combined with ayurvedic diabetes control measures, help manage blood sugar naturally.

  • Gestational Diabetes

This type develops during pregnancy when hormonal changes affect insulin production or usage. While it usually resolves after delivery, it increases the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes later in life.

Ayurveda recommends a balanced diet, gentle yoga practices, and herbal remedies to manage gestational diabetes and promote a healthy pregnancy.

  • Pre-Diabetes

This stage occurs before Type 2 diabetes, where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not yet at diabetic levels.

Ayurvedic interventions at this stage can effectively reverse the progression of the disease. A combination of detoxification therapies, customized diets, and ayurvedic medicine for diabetes can help restore metabolic balance and maintain healthy blood sugar levels.
